Numbers aren’t everything, but when the numbers are strong, it is fun to celebrate! U of A Wesley College Ministry has really experienced a crescendo in momentum through the latter summer and as we launched the fall. We wanted to share with you some indicators of vitality and fruitfulness that have us very excited about what the Lord is doing!
275 – Number of prospective students we have invited to Wesley and Central over the last three months. We gather names of incoming students from a variety of places, including UA summer orientation, pastors and youth directors, on-campus Welcome Weeks events such as Razorbash, and YOU!!
35-40 – Number of students we have had at Wesley EACH NIGHT for the first three weeks of the semester, as well as for our Central College Welcome Lunch. It has not been the same group any night! Each night, we have had between 12-20 students in the room who are brand new to the ministry this semester!!
100 – Number of students we served hamburgers at our on-campus Cook-out and Matthew Clark concert during the first week of the semester. We grilled and chilled on the U of A Union Mall – lots of good publicity for Wesley!
12 – Number of new Wesley Advisory Council members recruited for this academic year. Our new Advisory Council, of 21 persons total, kicked off the year with a Council Retreat in early August at Mt. Sequoyah Retreat Center.
$121,800 – New dollars pledged since July 1 to close the gap for funding for our New Wesley House. That brings our anticipated shortfall to only $278,200. Naming opportunities are still available and fundraising efforts continue. Watch for our “Making Our House a Home” campaign later this fall. For more information on remaining naming opportunities, contact Special Projects Coodinator Kristen Coppola Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please continue to pray for us, as we seek to help college students CONNECT, GROW, and BEAR FRUIT in their life with Christ this year!!
