Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1
The women’s ministry at Central believes that God has a journey for each one of us. It is led by His Spirit and we respond with daily steps of obedience. Jesus’ truth frees us to walk in liberty, close to Him. With each step He unfolds deeper truths of Him and strengthens us with His Spirit. It is a journey we could not create on our own but, it remains up to us, individually, to make the choice to live in what Jesus has provided.
After, our last event on August 28th, I felt the Spirit move so strongly, it was like no other event we experienced before at Central’s Connecting Point for Women. A fresh move of His Spirit ignited in our midst. As I visited with women who were there that night they felt the same way. We were touched by the move of the Holy Spirit. I have been amazed by the e-mails and phone calls about their reactions about the night. I too, was moved by the presence of the Holy Spirit. It was so precious that I did not want the evening to end. I wanted to stay and continue to enjoy the fellowship and atmosphere of what His Spirit poured out. We were united. One focus, Jesus.
The Connecting Point Women’s Ministry team and I have been praying together each week. Truly, seeking God and asking Him to make this ministry into what He is calling it to be and do. Not, what we had planned but what He has planned. We feel in our hearts the Spirit is doing a new thing right before our eyes! Let us not miss one second of what He has purposed for us.
On Saturday November 7th, Central’s Connecting Point for Women will meet for brunch from 10:00- 12:00 at the Genesis Campus on Martin Luther King Blvd. You are invited to join in the encouragement of each other, as sisters in Christ. I have asked Karen Blasingame to join us again, as we discuss “From Captive to Free- Making the Journey”. Our topic that morning will center on leaving the captivity of our past hurts and bondage of poor choices to embrace the healing work of Jesus. Yes, Jesus delivers. Jesus restores.
Captivity, you may call it struggle or issue, but, whatever you choose to name it, it is a barrier in our life keeping us from experiencing all that God has in store for us through Jesus. Jesus has set us free. Let us walk in that truth. Many times, we don’t even know what holds us back, other times all we can do is think about what is holding us back. Have you ever thought like Scarlet O’Hara in Gone with the Wind when she said “I will think about that tomorrow”. Ladies, we do not have to keep putting off what Jesus can do now. He enables us to see and strengthens us to leave behind what entangles us. Let’s move forward today embracing our freedom in Christ!
Ladies, please come and join us. If you would like to register online, click here. The cost of the event is $10 or $5 for university students. I would ask that you also begin to pray for our time together. Pray specifically John 3:30 “He must increase, but I must decrease.” I hope to see you there!
